Aspirations
Bigger premises and fuller capacity, to allow us to build on what we have achieved so far. To do this we need:
- Better and more protection for women with DV cases
- More engaging and positive youth
- Better access to mental health services
- Increase the number of kids in higher education
- Campaign for the right to transfer health benefits abroad, thus allowing the right of choice.
- Reduce extremism and encourage community cohesion and engagement
About Al-Hasaniya
We continue to work with this very vulnerable group of women and children in the hope that they will gain confidence and become an integral part of the society in which they live in.Al-Hasaniya Moroccan Women's Centre was founded in 1985, borne out of the need and necessity to provide a bridge between formal statutory organisations, like Council Services, Primary Care trusts, and other NGOs to help women access services. We provide a range of services, advice and assistance for Moroccan and Arabic speaking women and their families on:
> Benefits,
> Housing,
> Homelessness,
> Domestic Violence,
> Health and Mental Health.
We also have a number of short projects aimed at the empowerment of women. For more information, click here.
The Centre seeks to serve the health, welfare, education and training needs of Moroccan and Arabic speaking women and their families. The Centre aims at providing referral advice and information to enable clients to access mainstream services. The majority of our users are residents in the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. However women and families from other areas are very welcome to use the services. Self-referrals, referrals from other voluntary and statutory agencies are welcome. We all need to work very hard to make sure that we get information, help and support through to all those who need it most. Nowhere is that more true than in an inner-city environment like North Kensington.
