Bringing People Together

In June 2026, Al-Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre was delighted to take part in a wonderful drumming workshop with Equal People Mencap (EPM), a community organisation based in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC).

Our wellbeing group had the opportunity to share their drumming skills with members of EPM’s special needs group, showing them how to play different rhythms and enjoy making music together. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with laughter, creativity, connection and lots of positive energy.

The workshop gave everyone the opportunity to take part, learn from one another and enjoy the benefits of music in a welcoming and inclusive environment. It was particularly lovely to see our wellbeing group sharing their skills and confidence while supporting and encouraging others to join in.

The session highlighted the importance of inclusion and bringing different communities together. It created a space where everyone could participate, express themselves and feel valued, regardless of their abilities or background.

We were delighted to hear that EPM would love to welcome us back, and we look forward to continuing this positive partnership and taking part in more activities together in the future.
