'We strongly condemn the killing of both George Floyd and Ilias Tahri, as we condemn ALL forms of prejudice, racism, and discrimination and violence.

We wish to ask for calm, solidarity and indeed foresight to ensure today’s history is in our hands to make it a fair and for future generations to be proud of.

Trustees and staff wish to offer their sincere condolences to both the families of George Floyd asphyxiated on the 25th May 2020 in USA and of Ilias Tahri equally asphyxiated by Spanish Police on the 1st July 2019.

The video of Ilias has only just come to the attention of the public where visibly, six officers asphyxiated the young man. He had just turned 18 and was under their care in a juvenile centre in Almeria, Spain. They were supposed to protect and care for him.

Eradicating history is not the way forward, but rather it is a LESSON for us to learn from and ensure that we do make a difference and build an equitable, fair and free world for ALL to enjoy and look after for future generations to come.'
